2022 Vinous Obscura 'Kék Bika' Austro-Hungarian Grape Field Blend
Our Kék Bika is a co-fermentation of traditional Hungarian grapes that were recently planted in the Columbia Gorge, Oregon. This mix of grapes is common in many of the famous red wines from Hungary, Czech Republic, and Austria. Some of these grapes are planted in the Northwest for the first time. This has incredible freshness, it screams of blue fruits and a spice that comes from our loess and volcanic soils.

YOU’RE MY BOY, BLUE! 🐂
The 2022 version is a stunner. Just a bit more structure this vintage than the 2019 & 2021, but still remains fresh. It’s got an incredible deep blue/garnet color, blue fruits, floral aromatics, and a clean refreshing finish. This is a highly enjoyable, easily drinkable red wine. Our Kék Bika (Blue Bull) is another glimpse into the great potential of these Hungarian red grapes in Oregon.
