2016 'COURY' Gewurztraminer
THE SPICY TRAMINER
I was given the opportunity to source a ton of “old vine” Gewurztraminer grapes from David Hill Vineyards. For many years, it was believed that this was one of Coury’s original plantings. In fact, it is the first vineyard sign you come to while visiting. This sign is wrong. This particular section of Gewurztraminer is from 1980, and was planted by David Teppola during the Laurel Ridge era of this property. Upon further research, these vines are from a nursery in California and clearly different that the clones that Coury imported 15 years prior.
